Coopper Kingsley
Managing Director & Head of Economic Strategy
Early Path
Coopper is the Managing Director and Head of Economic Strategy at MALEX. He began his career at 17 in the Australian Defence Force as a Combat Engineer, combining discipline in uniform with the study of law at Macquarie University.
That early foundation shaped his belief that prosperity is never a matter of chance, but of structure and responsibility.
Career Journey
Rising to the role of Special Services Officer and Acting-Lieutenant Colonel, Coopper gained first-hand experience leading teams in strategy, data, and financial analysis.
After leaving the military, he immersed himself in both management consulting and high-growth startups advising on policy and operations with firms like KPMG, while also driving sales, operations, and data strategy inside emerging ventures.
This balance of environments gave him a rare perspective: how both institutions and entrepreneurs succeed, stall, and adapt.
Before returning to the ADF as a Special Services Officer, Coopper also practised as a commercial lawyer, an experience that sharpened his perspective on how legal and financial systems shape business decisions.
Philosophies
Across every role, one pattern became clear: businesses don’t stall because of branding, marketing, or technology. They stall because of structural misalignment.
Broken handoffs between sales, marketing, and delivery. Offers that don’t match the buyer’s journey. Revenue systems without clarity. Priorities without focus.
For Coopper, prosperity isn’t luck. It’s the outcome of aligning discipline, evidence, and human behavior into systems designed to last.
Why MALEX
Out of years of journaling and system-building, MALEX was born.
At MALEX, Coopper applies his philosophy in two directions:
For individuals
Simplifying financial decisions, reducing risk, and providing clarity to take control of their future.
For businesses
Refining structures, improving productivity, and creating conditions for sustainable growth.
Together, both sides are strengthened, building prosperity from the individual upward.
